KYLE TURLEY BLASTS NFLPA’s ROBERT SMITH

Drops F Bomb while standing up for retired NFL Players during radio interview

Turley speaks out on his heated discussion with Robert Smith

listen to interview                                        tell us what you think

Kyle Turley, who created the Gridiron Guardian program benefiting the Gridiron Greats, dropped an F bomb on live radio while passionately standing up for the rights of retired players many of whom are in dire need.

Turley donated an entire game check to the Gridiron Greats and spearheaded a very successful initiative amongst active NFL players to do the same.  The project raised over $300,000 which is being used to directly provide aid to retired players in need.

During an interview on Miami radio station 790 The Ticket, Turley caused a controversy when he stated live on the air to Robert Smith, “This is a serious issue.  Families are affected; people are becoming homeless, living in shelters. Do you not see a problem with that?  Well, f- you, then!”

Kyle told the Gridiron Greats this about the interview

“I called back as I did not want the station to give him the last word.  I am sorry if I offended anyone but this is an emotional situation.  Lives are being affected by the dysfunctional disability system.  Former players are homeless, many are faced with horrendous physical conditions that are related to football injuries and live without medicine and it just keeps getting worse.  Nobody is trying to get rich here, guys just need to be able to pay their bills and afford medical care to take care of the after effects of the game.  The current system is broken.  It is a shame that it takes me getting emotional and accidentally using profanity to have this wind up as front page news on the internet.  If it helps bring the facts light then it is a positive!  It is really time for people like Robert Smith to wake-up and take a look at what is really happening.  I am tired of hearing the same old spin from the NFLPA and guys like Smith.

I donated my $25,000 game check to the Gridiron Greats and many of my brothers around the NFL did the same during through the Gridiron Guardian program.  So many guys wanted to help take care of those players who are in dire need. We should not have to do that. The dysfunctional and corrupt disability system needs to be fixed. The PR spin for the NFLPA and NFL needs to stop, many lives are being impacted by this.   I will continue my work with the Gridiron Greats and I am completely committed to bringing about permanent change and in the meantime continuing the humanitarian efforts to help those in need.”
