ACTIVE PLAYERS INFORMATION HOW TO PARTICIPATE

I have coordinated a group of active players throughout the League who, on December 23rd, will donate a portion of one game check, small or large, to the Gridiron Greats Assistance Fund to aid retired NFL players who are in dire need. Many players have already agreed to donate and participate in this grass roots relief effort. In this holiday season of giving, it is important we reach out and help our brothers in need. Gridiron Guardian Sunday - How it works

This initiative is a program that allows active players to make a conditional donation and adopt a group of players in dire need through Mike Ditka’s Gridiron Greats Organization. These funds are used to directly care for retired players in dire need.
The Gridiron Greats is a charitable 501(c) (3) organization, ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE and can be made in any denomination. We are grateful for anything you can donate.
100% of your donation goes directly to players in need. None of your donation is used for any overhead. Your donation is completely confidential unless you specify otherwise.
The Gridiron Guardian program has been developed as a mechanism for active NFL players to help provide direct financial aid and social services to retired NFL players in dire need and to raise awareness about the issue; it is essentially Player to Player. As a Gridiron Guardian, you will receive a private monthly newsletter detailing you’re your funds have helped along with case overviews of all who have received financial aid and what types of services were provided. As a special thank you gift, Coach Ditka has provided Gridiron Greats Leather Lambskin Jackets, which all those who become a Gridiron Guardian will receive.
